1. They started a sensationalist, negative bent decades ago that included a move away from factual reporting to opinion and entertainment in order to sell papers.
2. They, as a whole, have become so far removed from objective, unemotional journalism, that it has become the burden of the reader to look for the facts and be aware of the manipulation, the bias and in some cases the propaganda of certain “news” outlets.
