Maybe it’s time to resurrect the idea of Pen Pals. This was something done in the 50’s and 60’s to connect children from around the world through letter writing. Today it would be even easier. Some bright tech person could create an app where parents sign up to video chat, or secure email, or some other privacy safe avenue with a family from a different country. Whole families could gather for conversations. There would need to be an option for what languages are in common. Maybe there is a way for schools to start such a program.
